What's the league about?
The league is designed to give GMs the feeling that they are at the helm of a real NHL team. So we will will be using an accurate salary cap and other elements similar to the real NHL.
The hope is to always strike a balance between the challenge/complexity of managing a real team and the fun/flexibility of Fantasy hockey.
What sites are used?
Proboards - Currently used to house all transactions for the league, post announcements, log discussion threads
Fantrax - the main site to process scoring, player lists, and league payments
Google Sheets - tracking sheets to monitor team cap hits, player contracts
Discord - currently used as a supplemental communication platform
Fees and prizes?
$40 annual fee

Stanley Cup Champion ~ $550
Presidents Trophy Winner ~ $300
Stanley Cup Runner-up ~ $80
Regular Season Divisional Winners ~ $40 each
Owner of the Forward with the most points ~ $20
Owner of the Defenseman with the most points ~ $20
Owner of the Goalie with the most points ~ $20
Owner of the Rookie with the most points ~ $20
Biggest Drop in Draft Lottery ~ $20
Biggest standings point improvement year over year ~ $20
What is the leagues scoring?
Custom points league with 4 head to head matchups per week (one against the league average).
The scoring system is designed to try and create values of players similar to the real NHL. Below are the top 20 scorers from the 2020/21 season:
How are the contracts determined?
Free agents are determined via an auction process. Once a player is won, the winning GM will decide the contract length and escalators will be applied. These are based upon the age of the player and contract term selected.
Players signed to ELCs will follow their NHL cap hit. At the conclusion of the players ELC they will become RFA, which can be subject to offer sheets from other GMs.
